Darkness

Poem:  “Darkness”, by Adara Panther

From the depths of darkness, my soul struggles to be free
Slithering toward the light, covered in sinful thoughts
Breathing in the bloody sickness we call life
Never-ending death and despair
Dark voids becoming deeper
Pain intensifying
Nothing.
A light glistens
In the faroff distance
Outstretched hand reaching
Trying to grasp at the beautiful spectacle
Failing to accept the inevitable result that follows
Tortured soul falling back into the darkness where it belongs.
